Contemporary class trough games
Carolina and Joeri are interested in the constant research of the body's adaptability. Through teaching and personal research their classes are continuously evolving.
For their ''Entropy-Contemporary Classes'' and ''Entropy-Contemporary Partnering Classes'' they have established a simple yet complex structure of games, rules and limitations where one can discover more freedom in understanding their body individually as well as interacting with another person.
Through our games and 'rules' participants will be able to learn their own borders and, as a result, these new tools can be used to their advantage in creating pivot points while moving on the floor, standing, jumping, manipulating, turning and isolating. The brain is the heaviest and most loaded muscle. By limiting our self to the tasks and rules our brain relaxes the ’thought process’. Our brain starts to be creative and healthy. By freeing our mind we unlocks new creative space in the body.
Carolina and Joeri will guide participants thought out the entire class, coaching as well as physically exploring and showing the exercise.
In this playful environment Joeri ,Carolina and Sarah will share their experience as collaborators (choreographer and dancer respectively), where concepts, personal research, words, images, etc.. create the need to translate, explore and embody them. The Choreographic Lab is a great opportunity to share ideas and work methods, reflect and test them without having the pressure to perform them.
Joeri is interested in combining a variety of techniques and implement them in his creations. In this session the participants will be challenged technically and artistically. They will learn Dubbe's past choreographic material where floor-work, jumps, turns, isolating, popping&locking will take place. The teachers will carefully guide the participants to combine Dubbe’s unique dance language into various spatial compositions. They will work individually and as a collective group. Music will be used to re-create the dynamic of the given structure.
In these playful environment Joeri, Carolina and Sarah invite you to collaborate, share, learn, and enjoy!
