Joeri Alexander Dubbe
Joeri Alexander Dubbe was born in Haarlem ,The Netherlands. After a successful career with The Dutch National Ballet and Nederlands Dans Theater, Joeri Dubbe has focused exclusively on his career as a freelance choreographer in the care of Korzo productions.Although his main focus is on creating as well as touring with his own group, he also creates for companies and schools such as Nederlands Dans Theatre, Scapino Ballet, OpenFLR, Codarts, Artez and others. His work appeared at international events such as the Shanghai World Expo, Todays Art, Holland Dance Festival, Cadance, Scenario Pubblico, Tanz Heilbronn, Big5 Festival, VERBA (Argentina).
Joeri’s works received numerous prizes and recognicions: 2011 Nederlandse Dansdagen as ‘Promising choreographer’| in 2012 the prestigious BNG prize as ‘Best Theatre Production’ for his full evening piece‘Chrono’ | in 2014s ‘Hannover Choreography Competition’ he won the ’3rd Prize’ and Scapino Prize’ with a duet from ‘Trigger-Happy’ (the full piece was created for The Netherlands Dans Theatre 2).For his latest full evening creation ‘Infant’, Joeri researched with dancer Sarah Murphy. That research resulted on a successful solo.’Enfant’ won the ‘1st prize’ in choreography & Sarah won the ‘1st Prize’ as a dancer in the 20th International Solo Tanz Theater Stuttgart. Sarah recently is nominated for the prestigious Dutch prize ‘Swan’ as the most impressive dance achievement for her performance in ‘Enfant’.Thanks to his work opportunities and support from Korzo producties, Joeri found his personal interest in movement, choreography and personal voice as an artist.
